OBITUARY OF MRS. MARY WENDT


Mrs. Mary Wendt
was born in Germany June 2, 1856 and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Henry Ghent in Neillsville, Thursday morning, Aug. 20, 1931 at 2:00 o'clock of heart trouble.


At the age of eleven she came with her parents to this country and settled at Sparta, where she lived on a farm until her marriage to Fred E. Wendt on Nov. 18, 1873.


Mr. and Mrs. Wendt lived on a farm near Cataract, Wis. until 1900 when they came to Clark County and lived on different farms in the Neillsville vicinity. Mr. Wendt passed away in 1918 and she has since made her home with her children.


She is survived by five daughters and two sons. They are Mrs. Henry Ghent, Mrs. Wm. Neville, Neillsville Mrs. George Lastofka, Humbird Mrs. Evan Haton, Greenwood and Mrs. Joe Lingle, Spencer and Fred of Neillsville and William of Humbird. She is also survived by a sister, Mrs. George Brooks and twelve grandchildren. Two children, besides her husband, preceded her in death.
