Greenwood--Funeral services were conducted at the Schiller Funeral Home and at Trinity Lutheran Church her Wednesday for Mrs. Mathilda Baeschlin, 71, who died at her home Saturday afternoon, Aug. 17, 1940, after having been ill since last fall. The Rev. George Heilman conducted the rites, and burial took place in the Greenwood Cemetery.

Mrs. Baeschlin was born Mathilda Louis Fricke, in Newburg, Washington County, on Oct. 31, 1868, and came to the Greenwood vicinity with her parents at the age of 8. Her father homesteaded what is now the Demuth-Rodorf farm on the Twenty six Road.
