GEORGE O. SMITH SERVICE

Greenwood Funeral services for George O. Smith, 59, Owen, Clark County, who died Sunday, Nov. 16, 1941, at Wisconsin General Hospital, Madison, after a lingering illness, were held at the Schiller Funeral Home in Greenwood Friday afternoon, Nov. 21. The Rev. A. J. Abbott officiated and interment was made in the Greenwood Cemetery.

During the services Mrs. Chal. Perkins and Mrs. George Haeuser sang "What a Friend", "The Silver Cord" and "In the Sweet Bye and Bye", accompanied by Mrs. John Meng.

Pallbearers were Swan Peterson, Arvin Lindgren, Gerald Steffen, Lloyd Hammer, and Charles Moose of Owen and Hastings Baird, Greenwood.

Mr. Smith was born in the Town of Greenbush, Sheboygan County, Oct. 8, 1882, and was married at Sheboygan to Mrs. Isabelle Schmidt Dec. 18, 1906. They came to Clark County in 1915, residing near Granton for several years and later moving to Owen.

He is survived by his wife, one daughter, Mrs. Clarence (Lorinda) Behringer, Owen a sons, Fred A. Smith, Greenwod and a sister, Mrs. Frank Hoyt, Antigo. Tow children died in infancy and his parents and several brothers and sisters also preceded him in death.

Those from out of town at the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Behringer and sons, Gerald, George, and Donald, Owen Mr. and Mrs. Fred Daniels and son Frederick, and daughter, Marie, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Elmhorst and family, and Mrs. Fred Elmhorst, all of Granton, and many friends from Owen.
