GODRIED TANNER, 68, DIES SATURDAY
FUNERAL SERVICES TO BE HELD WEDNESDAY FOR GREENWOOD RESIDENT

Greenwood--Godried Tanner, Greenwood, Clark County, died Saturday morning, July 10, 1948 at 12:15 o'clock at the Richard Malin residence, where he had made his home the past two months. He had suffered a stroke about a year ago and had been in poor health for several months. He was 68.

Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Schiller Funeral Home in Greenwood and at the West Side Reformed Church at 2 o'clock. The Rev. J.C. Klingeberger will officiate at the services and burial will be made in the Greenwood Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the Schiller Funeral Home.

Mr. Tanner was born Jan. 8, 1880 in Switzerland, and came to the United States 45 years ago. He lived on a farm 4 miles west of Greenwood until last fall, when he sold the farm and moved to Greenwood, Clark County to live with his brother, Rudolph.

He was married to Mrs. Vera Malinowski at Greenwood July 3, 1948.

Surviving besides his bride of a week are Rudolph, Greenwood Mrs. Louis Ciltener, Brodhead, Wis. three sisters, Mrs. Lena Steiner, Ida, and Sophia Tanner, Switzerland and one brother, Otto, Switzerland. A sister, Mrs. William (Emma) Horn died in Greenwood a year ago and two bothers also preceded him in death.
