FRED WEHRMAN, 74, DIES EARL FRIDAY
FUNERAL RITES TO BE CONDUCTED MONDAY


Greenwood--Funeral services will be held Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock at Grace Methodist Church for Fred Wehrman, 74, who died at 5 o'clock Friday morning, Nov. 19, 1948 at his home 8 miles northeast of Greenwood, Clark County. He had been ill since 1940.


The body will lie in state at the Stabnow Funeral Home from this evening until the time of the funeral services. The Rev. Lee H. Holmes will conduct the services and interment will be made in the Greenwood Cemetery.


Mr. Wehrman was born in Sheboygan, April 11, 1873, and came to Greenwood with his parents when he was six years old, settling on the West Side. Since 1908 he had been farming on his present farm in the Town of Beaver. He was a member of the School Board of that township for 18 years.


Surviving besides his wife are three sons, Clarence, Lanson Arthur, Loyal and Ed, Merton two stepchildren, Oscar Brandt, Greenwood, and Mrs. Helen Wendlant, Northfield, Minn. 10 grandchildren a brother, Otto Wehrman, Greenwood and three sisters, Mrs. Caroline Volk, Mrs. Bertha Volk and Mrs. Mary Abel, all of Greenwood. Another sister, Mrs. Anna Buker of Greenwood, preceded him in death.

 

Biographical Information

 

Fred was a half brother to my Grandfather Otto H. Wehrmann. Fred's mother was Korline Kuester, first wife of Frederick. Grandfather's mother was Mary Wohhaupt.


Fred's family lived in Beaver Twp., Clark Co., Wisconsin.  The three son's of Fred, Clarence, Arthur and Ed have all passed. The family of Art's that I'am aware of are: son, Art Jr., Jeanette Wehrmann Suda and Barbara Wehrmann Noeldner. I'm not sure about Art's children, where living, both girls. I know there are still Suda's living in Greenwood as well as Jeanette, her husband Chuck. Barb is living in Greenwood as well has her children.


Art Sr., brothers lived in the Milwaukee area and did have children.  Betty Comstock
