LEONARD LUND


Greenwood--Leonard M. Lund, 65, proprietor of the Lund Drug Store here (Greenwood, Clark County), died at the Wisconsin General Hospital at Madison at 2:30 a.m. Saturday, Mar. 8, 1952 after a short illness.


Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 1:30 p.m. at the Stabnow Funeral Home. The Rev. Lee Holmes, pastor of the Grace Methodist Church will officiate, and Masonic rites, conducted by A. L. Devos, Neillsville, will follow. Interment will be in the Greenwood Cemetery.


Mr. Lund was born May 6, 1886 at La Crosse. He was educated in La Crosse schools and was a graduate of Marquette University, Milwaukee. After graduation he worked in a drug store at La Crosse for a short time and then moved to Hurley, where h e worked in Sullivan's Drug Store.


He was married to Elizabeth Evstamer at Hurley Jan. 2, 1912. After his marriage he moved to Rhinelander where he operated his own pharmacy until his retirement in May, 1941. His first wife died in August 1942.


He is survived by his second wife, the former Esther Dankert, Milwaukee, whom he married at Rhinelander Nov. 25, 1944. Besides his widow he leaves on daughter, Mrs. Lawrence (Elizabeth) Carlson, Wisconsin Rapids one son, Richard L. Lund, Rhinelander one sister, Mrs. M. O. (Ethel) Warner, Spencer, Iowa one brother, P. Lund, Los Angeles, Calif. and nine grandchildren.
