BERTHA RUETH


Bertha Rueth, 87, of 410 Mill St., Loyal, Clark County, passed away at 5:30 p.m., Friday, Nov. 11, 1977 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield.


Funeral services were conducted at 11 a.m., Monday, Nov. 14 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Loyal. Rev. Chester Osowski officiated and rev. Norbert King officiated as co-celebrant. Interment was in the parish cemetery.


A PCCW Rosary was conducted at 3 p.m. and a prayer service at 8 p.m. Sunday.


Bertha Schweiger was born on Nov. 13, 1889 at Whitewater and received her education at Globe School. She was married to Frank Rueth on May 19, 1908 at Loyal. They farmed in the Town of Loyal until 1945, when they moved to Loyal, where she has been living since.


She was a member of St. Anthony's Church, St. Mary's Altar Society and the Senior Citizens.


Surviving her are two sons, Franklin of Loyal and Leonard of Greenwood three daughters, Mrs. Max (Frances) Langfeldt of Loyal, Mrs. Matt (Rosalind) Beaver of Marshfield and Mrs. John (Marian) Elsinger of Loyal one sister, Mrs. Marcella Schellinger of Loyal one brother, John Schweiger of Loyal 38 grandchildren 84 great-grandchildren and one great-great-granddaughter.


She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, on July 8, 1949 her parents, Ferdinand and Anna Schweiger three sisters and three grandchildren.


Serving as pallbearers were Raymond Miller, Robert Langfeldt, Larry Rueth, Jerry Elsinger, Andy Rueth and Norman Polasek.
