Francel, Frank (1873 - 1960)


GREENWOOD--Frank Francel Sr., 87, Willard, Clark County, died Thursday evening at his farm home southwest of Willard after having been in ill health several years.


Funeral services will be held at 9:30 a.m. Monday at the Francel Sr. home and at 10 a.m. Monday in Holy Family Catholic Church at Willard. The Rev. Aloysius Madic will officiate and burial will be in the parish cemetery.


The body will lie in state at the Hill Funeral Home from this evening until late Sunday afternoon, when it will be taken to the Francel home. A rosary will be recited at the home at 8 p.m. Sunday.


Mr. Francel was born Jan. 22, 1873, in Yugoslavia. He married the former Johanna Kozar on Jan. 18, 1903, at Ely, Minn. They came to the Town of Hendren in 1910 and were among the earliest settler in that area. His wife preceded him in death July 26, 1952.


Surviving are four sons, Frank Francel Jr., Marshfield Joseph Francel, Augusta John Francel, at home Paul Francel, Genoa City eight daughters, Mrs. Hannah Kokaly, Willard Mrs. Frank (Agnes) Schnaitmann, Evanston, Ill. Mrs. Lambert (Mary) Butzen, Chicago, Ill. Mrs. Ignace (Frances) Koschak and Mrs. Frank (Hedwig) Klinke, both of Greenwood Mrs. Cyril (Theresa) Kranjc, Waukegan, Ill. Mrs. Anton (Pauline) Hribar, Chicago .(the rest of my copy was cut off)
