CARL BLANCHARD


Carl Edward Blanchard,
50, of 201 Haslow St., Spencer, passed away at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield, on Wednesday, March 8, 1978.


Rev. William Ruhbusch officiated at services at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 11 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Spencer. Burial was in the West Side Cemetery.


Carl Blanchard was born in Unity, Clark County on Aug. 24, 1927 to Kenneth and Lydia Blanchard. He was married to LaVerna Giese on June 15, 1948 at Peace Lutheran Church in the Town of Frankford.


He served in the armed forces four years in the Navy and 16 in the Air Force and also in the Fire and Rescue Squad and retired as a staff sergeant. He served from 1945 to 1965.


He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Spencer.


He is survived by his wife, LaVerna his mother, Mrs. Lydia Blanchard, Marshfield two sons, Donald of Marshfield and Steven of Spencer one daughter, Nancy at home two brothers, Robert and Raymond of Marshfield and four grandchildren.


Serving as pallbearers were Eugene Thurs, Ervin Ziegel, Randy Thurs, Edward Dennis and Dick Blanchard. Mr. Daniel Schwantes was the organist.


Rux Funeral Home, Spencer, was in charge of arrangements.
