Brauneis, Elizabeth (1875 - 1958)


GREENWOOD Services Will be held at 2 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at the Hill Funeral Home here for Mrs. Joseph (Elizabeth) Brauneis, 82, route 1, Greenwood, Clark County, who died of Pneumonia Sunday, Feb. 2, 1958, at the home of her son, Thomas Kurz, in Chicago. She left here in October to spend the winter at the Kurz home.


Friends may call at the funeral home beginning this evening. The Rev. Charles Koch, pastor of Zion and West Side United Churches of Christ, will officiate at the rites, in the absence of Mrs. Brauneis's pastor, the Rev. H. F. Brauer, who serves Trinity Lutheran Church here.


Interment will take place in the Greenwood Cemetery.


Mrs. Brauneis had lived on a farm at the south city limits of Greenwood since 1928. She came here from Chicago, where she had lived since 1913, after immigrating to this country from Austria-Hungary, her birthplace, Sept. 15, 1875. She was married in Chicago in 1928 to Mr. Brauneis, who died in July 1944.


Survivors are three sons by a former marriage. They are Adolph and Thomas Kurz of Chicago and George Kurz of Stevens Point. Grandchildren also survive.
