Bizjak, Anna (1878 - 1956)


GREENWOOD, CLARK COUNTY
--Mrs. Anna Bizjak, 77, Greenwood, died a 10:15 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 11, 1956 at St. Joseph's Hospital, where she was a patient since Dec. 31. For the past year she had been residing at the Clark County Hospital in Owen.


Funeral arrangements have been tentatively set for 1 p.m. Saturday at the Hill Funeral Home here, with burial to follow in the Greenwood Cemetery. The Rev. Charles Koch, pastor of the West Side Evangelical and Reformed Church, will officiate.


Friends may call at the funeral home beginning Friday evening.


The former Anna Schaschl was born March 23, 1878 in Austria, where she was married to August Bizjak. Several years later the couple came to the United States and lived at Indianapolis, Ind., before moving to the Willard area more than 40 years ago. In 1947 they moved to Greenwood, where Mr. Bizjak died in November of that year. After his death, until she entered the county hospital at Owen, Mrs. Bizjak had made here home with her children.


Those surviving are three sons, Joseph, Greenwood; August, Willard; and John, Thorp three daughters, Mrs. Rose Howard, New York City; Mrs. Albert (Agnes) Wehrmann, Loyal; and Mrs. Norman (Sophie) Reineking, Greenwood; five brothers and sisters, Ferdinand Schaschl, Chicago; John, Flint, Mich.; Carl, Mrs. Magdalene Garbon and Mrs. Ida Sinkovec, all of Germany; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.


In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by an infant son and a twin sister.
