Kokaly, Martin (1867 - 1952)


GREENWOOD, CLARK COUNTY--Funeral services for Martin Kokaly Sr., 85, who died Thursday, Nov. 20, 1952, were held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in the Schiller Funeral Home. The Rev. Charles Koch, pastor of the Zion Evangelical and Reformed Church, officiated, and burial was made in the Greenwood Cemetery.


Mr. Kokaly was born Nov. 11, 1867, in Austria. He was married Feb. 25, 1900, in Germany, to Josephine Sovelech. They came to the United States in 1903, and settled in Utah. Eleven years later they moved to Willard, where they operated a farm until three years ago. Since that time, when they retired, they had made their home in Greenwood.


He is survived by his wife, three daughters, Mrs. Arlist (Emilie) Ross, Hazel Park, Mich. Mrs. Joseph (Edna) Pufka, Detroit and Mrs. Harold (Avis) Hartman, Oaklawn, Ill. three sons, Martin Jr., Willard Reinhold, Chicago and Edward, Marshfield and eight grandchildren.


A brother, Frank, preceded him in death.
