Krejci, Rex (1910 - 1990)


Rex, Krejci, 80, Neillsville, died Feb. 20, 1990, at 8:40 a.m., at Neillsville Memorial Home. Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 24, 1990, at Gesche Funeral Home, Neillsville. Rev. James Gordon officiated the service. Cremation rites were accorded.


Rex Krejci was born Jan. 10, 1910, in the Town of York, to John and Hanna (O Brian) Krejci. He grew up, was educated and started farming in the Town of York. He later farmed in the Town of Pine Valley. He married his first wife, Eunice Grosnick on June 8, 1932. She died on Feb. 19, 1960. He then married Ruby Shumway Hohenstein on April 10, 1970, in Belvidere, Ill. He owned and operated a rural milk route in the Neillsville area for several years and later worked for the City of Neillsville at the City Cemetery, and then for the Green Thumb of Neillsville.


Surviving him are his second wife, two daughters, Mrs. Arne (Bonnie) Eisentraut, Neillsville Mrs. Kenneth (Pat) Christie, La Crosse two sons, DeVere Krejci, Neillsville Lee Krejci, Schofield two step-sons, Darrel Hohenstein, Granton Arthur Hohenstein, Janesville two step-daughters, Gloria Havlicek, Neillsville Mrs. George (Betty) Severson, Utica, Mich. ten grandchildren, 17 step-grandchildren 11 great-grandchildren and 24 step-great-grandchildren.


Preceding him in death were his parents, first wife, three brothers and one grandchild.
Gesche Funeral Home was in charge of the arrangements.
