Massop, Rita Mae (1938 - 1990)

Rita Mae Massop, 51, Unity, died Sunday, Aug. 25, 1990, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Marshfield. Funeral services were held Thursday, Aug. 30, 1990, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Colby. Rev. Bruce Ball officiated and burial was in the church cemetery.
Rita Mae Carey was born Nov. 9, 1938, in Blue earth, Minn. to George L. and Mae (nee Tarjeson) Carey. She received her education at Mapleton High School. She married Richard Massop Feb. 5, 1957, in Mapleton, Minn. He survives. She worked for the Chino School District, Chino, Calif. and also as a unit clerk for St. Joseph's Medical Records for 18 years. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and its Christian Mother's Society, Bells of St. Mary's Guild.

Survivors include her husband, Richard her mother, Mae Carey, Abbotsford two sons, Shane Massop, at home James Massop, Athens one daughter, Mrs. Randy (Pattie) Rau, Dorchester and three grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her father.
