Schmidt, Genevieve (1909 - 1991)


Genevieve Schmidt, 81, Loyal, died Wednesday, June 19, 1991, at 5:25 p.m. at Neillsville Memorial Home. Funeral services were held Saturday, June 22 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Loyal, with Rev. Roman Kaiser officiating. Pallbearers were Bill Gaden, Jim Peterson, Dale Schmidt, Fred Adler, Bill Horn and Franklin Walter. Burial was in the church cemetery.


Genevieve Gaden was born Oct. 31, 1909, in Neillsville, a daughter of William and Mary (nee Aumann) Gaden. She was education at Neillsville High School and attended Normal Teachers Training in Eau Claire. Prior to her marriage to Ed Schmidt on June 12, 1934 at St. Mary's Church, Neillsville, she taught at Pleasant View School. She and her husband farmed in the town of York, retiring in 1972 and moving to the city of Loyal. Mrs. Schmidt was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and its Altar Society, and also of the Loyal Senior Citizens Club.


Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Andrew (Dolores) Lindner of Muskego, Wis. and Mrs. Frank (Charlotte) Oldham of Neillsville three sons, Ronald of Spencer, and Eugene and Robert, both of Neillsville 19 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her parents, and her husband in Sept. 1982.


Rinka Funeral Home, Loyal, was in charge of funeral arrangements.
