Michalski, Julia Mary (1904 - 2001)


Julia Mary Michalski, 96, Marshfield, died on Sunday, June 3, 2001, at the Bethel Center, Arpin, where she had resided since Oct. 8, 1999. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m., on Wednesday, June 6, at St. John's Catholic Church, Marshfield. The Rev. Charles D. Stoetzel officiated. Burial was in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Marshfield. Pallbearers were Robert Michalski Jr., Richard Michalski, Marvin Michalski, Randy Schreiber, Ken Hartje, and Lee Bartl.


Julia Mary Degenhardt was born on July 18, 1904, in Loyal, Clark County, to Martin and Katherine (nee Baus) Degenhardt. She attended St. Anthony's Parochial School, Loyal. She married Leo B. Michalski on June 30, 1925, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Loyal. She was a lifelong resident of Marshfield and had been employed in practical nursing there. She was a member of St. John's catholic Church and the Parish Council of Catholic Women.


Survivors include three sons, Robert (Theresa) Michalski Sr., Marshfield, Ronald (Nancy) Michalski, Marshfield, and Harvey (Andrianna) Michalski, Minneapolis, Minn. one daughter, Elaine (Elmer) Schreiber Sr., New Port Richey, Fla. 21 grandchildren 14 great-grandchildren numerous great-great-grandchildren and two sisters-in-law, Lorraine Degenhardt, Sparta, and Gertrude Degenhardt, Loyal.


She was preceded in death by her parents her husband, Leo B. Michalski, on Aug. 2, 1982 one son, Gerald and one sister and five brothers.


Rembs/Kundinger Funeral Home, Marshfield, assisted the family with arrangements.
