Fulsang, Niels Carl (1893 - 1980)


Niels Carl Fulsang, 86, a resident of Kalispell and former resident of White Bear Lake, Minn., died in the Kalispell Regional Hospital Tuesday, Jan. 15, 1980.


Funeral services were held on Saturday, Jan. 19 at 3 p.m. at the Immanuel United Church of Christ. Officiating was Rev. Alwyn York and interment was in the West Side Cemetery.


Mr. Fulsang was born March 20, 1893 in Skonneborg, Denmark, a son of Johann and Jahanna Fulsan. He received his early schooling in Denmark and when he was 17 years old he came to the United States, making his home in Chicago, Ill., where he was employed as a furniture mover.


He was married to Louise Toburen, who preceded him in death.


He served in the United States Army in World War I and upon his honorable discharge returned to Chicago, where he lived for 50 years. Nine years ago he moved to White Bear Lake, Minn., and two years ago came to Kalispell to make his home with his son, Niels R. Fulsang.


He is survived by two sons, Niels R. Fulsang, Kalispell, Mont. and Lawrence V. Fulsang, Chicago Heights, Ill. nine grandchildren one great-grandson and one brother in Denmark.


Serving as pallbearers were Jerald Richmond, Herbert Horn, Norman Horn, Delmain Toburen, Ervin Toburen and Delmar Toburen.


Rinka Funeral Home was in Charge of arrangements.

Fulsang, Neils C. (20 March 1893 – 15 January 1980)

Neils C. Fulsang, 86, died Tuesday, January 15, in Kalispell, Montana, where he lived at the time with his son, Neils, Jr. The deceased was born March 20, 1893, in Denmark. He had lived the last two years in Montana with his son and before that was a furniture mover in Chicago. After retiring, he lived in White Bear Lake, Minnesota, for a time. He married Louise Toburen, who passed away in 1958. Surviving are two sons, Lawrence of Chicago and Neils, Jr.

Funeral services were held Satruday afternoon from the Greenwood United Church of Christ with the Rev. Alwyn York officiating. Pallbearers were Norman Horn, Hebert Horn, Jerold Richmond, Erwin Toburen, Delmar Toburen and Delmain Toburen.

The church choir sang “Ivory Palaces” and “Beyond the Sunset,” accompanied by Leona Albert and Susan Richmond.

People from away who attended were Mr. and Mrs. Neils Fulsang and family, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Fulsang and family, Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Cunningham, Mr. and Mrs. Roy Toburen and Mr. and Mrs. Noman Horn, all of Wausau, Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Wiltgen and sons, Marshfield; Oscar Franz, Three Lakes and Mr. and Mrs. Tony Karnitz, Neillsville.
