Bangart, Edmund (1926 - 2002)

Edmund Peepers Bangart, 75, Chili, Clark County, died on Friday, Jan. 11, 2002, at his home. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., on Friday, Jan. 18, at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Granton. The Reverend Woodrow Pace will officiate. Burial will be in St. Stephen s Catholic Cemetery, Chili. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m., on Thursday, Jan. 17, and from 10-11 a.m., Friday, Jan. 18 at the Gilbertson Funeral Home. Casket bearers will be George Koopman, Harley Loos, Dennis Pozega, Glen Sternweis, Pete Thompson and Ralph Zophi.

Edmund Peter Bangart was born on Feb. 27, 1926, in the town of Dane, Rozellville, to John and Anna (nee Brausch) Bangart. He served in the United States Army from 1946-48 and married Lillian Pozega in 1947. She died in 1955, and in 1957 he married Rosemarie Kohlbeck. He worked as a semi-driver for more than 40 years, a career that began at the age of 12 when he began a milk route. Along with driving semi, he and his family also farmed west of Chili.

Survivors include his wife, Rosemarie four sons, Edmund (Bridget) Bangart Jr., Texas, John Bangart, Chili, Duwayne Bangart, Granton, and Rick Bangart, Chili three daughters, Norma Jean (Raymond) Feit, Marshfield, Jacqueline (Mel) Vosta, Palmer, Ala., and Nadine, San Francisco, Calif. one brother and eight sisters and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Lillian a daughter, Victoria three brothers, Andrew, Anton and Theodore and his parents. The Gilbertson Funeral Home, Granton, is assisting the family with arrangements.
