Bowman, Hulda (1898 - 1982)


Funeral services for Mrs. Hulda Bowman, 84, a former Loyal, Clark County resident, who has been residing at Hatfield since 1959, were at 11 a.m., March 3, at the United Methodist Church, Loyal.

Mrs. Bowman died Sunday evening, Feb. 28, 1982, at Black River Memorial Hospital, Black River Falls.

Officiating at the services was Rev. Charles Sanford. Burial was in the Loyal Cemetery.

Hulda Clouse was born on Jan. 16, 1898, in the Town of Loyal to Frank and Sara (nee Rogers) Clouse. She was educated at Dodgeville School.

Her marriage took place on Sept. 27, 1916, at Loyal to Lawrence Bowman. They farmed for many years in the Town of Loyal, then in 1958 they moved to Hatfield, where they lived until the last four months. She had been residing at the Meadow View Apartments in Alma Center.

Surviving her are one son, Edward of Alma Center one brother, Ernest Clouse of Chippewa Falls 9 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

She is predeceased by her husband, Lawrence, on May 10, 1977 two grandchildren three sisters two brothers and her parents.

Serving as pallbearers were all grandsons, Jerry, Jack, Jay and John Bowman and Dean Stephens and Dale Cummings. Rinka Funeral Home, Loyal, handled arrangements.
