Henry & Martha Wheeler

Loyal Twp., Clark Co., Wisconsin

 

Henry was born in Dec 1817, the son of William and Miranda (Payne) Wheeler.  Both parents were natives of NY.  Henry first married Martha and they were living in Loyal Twp., Clark Co., WI at the time of the 1870 Federal Census.  He was born in NY during 1816 and she was a native of England, born in 1936.  In 1876, they homesteaded 160 acres of land in sections 23 and 26 in Sherman Twp. during the time that Ulysses S. Grant was President.  Henry's second marriage was to Clarissa.

 

His children were:  Alfred (b. 1846), Henry (b. 1849) and Margaret (b. 1858)
