Doernenberg, Sarah (7 OCT 1888 - 18 MAY 1907)

The whole community as one mourn the untimely death of Sarah (Schmidt) Doernenberg, which occurred last Saturday at 10:45 a.m., at her home in this village (Dorchester, Clark County, Wis.). It has been a long time since this community has felt the loss of one of their members as they feel the loss of Sarah. Her disposition was such that she never knew anyone but friends.

She was born in this village on Oct. 7, 1888, and was 18 years, 7 months and 11 days of age on the day of her death. On Aug. 8th of last year she was married to Fred Doernenberg, and it seems almost impossible to us to chronicle the death of Sarah, after setting the type of wedding less than 10 months ago. The funeral was held Tuesday at 2 o'clock from the Evangelical Peace Church, Rev. Jankee was the officiating clergyman. The subject of his sermon was taken from the gospel of John 14:6, "I am the way, the truth, and the life; no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." The church could not hold the vast throng of people who came to pay their last respects to the deceased, no a single one passed the remains who did not weep. She received many beautiful floral tributes. The pallbearers were Otto Santer, Herman Krenschnab, Frank Paulson, L. A. Wiggins, Frank Chase and Dell Winchell. The deceased is survived by her husband, a son, father, mother and three sisters. The entire community sympathizes with the bereaved ones in their hour of grief.
