Neff, Albertus L. (1821 - 24 Jun 1900)

Albertus L. Neff, one of the oldest settlers in the town of Levis, Clark County, died at his home in that town a little past midnight Saturday night. Mr. Neff was born in the state of New York and was about seventy-nine years of age. On coming west he settled in Jefferson County and about thirty-five years ago he removed to this county, settling in the locality where he died. He was highly spoken of by all his neighbors and was considered a good man and a good citizen.

He leaves three children, Mrs. Addie Holiday, formerly County Superintendent of Schools of this county, Miss Angie Neff, late city librarian of Duluth and Dorr Neff, one of the leading farmers of the town of Levis.

The funeral was held Monday afternoon at the residence, Rev. Jos. Brown officiating.

M. Rice Store in Mass.  In 1889, she made her home in Duluth, Minnesota and worked as a librarian at the public library.

Alburtis married a second time in November of 1867.  He and his second wife, Isabelle Short, purchased a farm in Levis Township where Alburtis died.  He and Isabelle didn't have any children together.
