Amendt, Amelia (15 Oct 1870 - 20 Aug 1927)

 

Mrs. Adam Amendt died very suddenly at her home in this village (Thorp, Clark County, Wis.) on Saturday last while sitting in a chair. Amelia Ditmar was born Oct. 15, 1870 at Freienbruch, Westfahlen, Germany. In 1883, at the age of twelve years, she came to America with her parents, who took up their residence at Homewood, Kansas. On March 9, 1898, she was united in marriage to Adam Amendt. To this union three children were born, Herbert, Eric and Bertha (now Mrs. Dudonsky), all of who reside here. In 1910 the family moved to Thorp. Besides her husband and children, deceased leaves to mourn, two brothers, Henry Ditmar of Iowa, and Aug. Ditmar of Kansas.

The funeral took place on Tuesday afternoon from the M. E. Church, Rev. K. C. Bubeck of Cadott, officiating, interment following the services in the Thorp Village Cemetery.
