Mrs. August Rahm Passes Away Dec. 4

Had Been Ill for Two Years With Cancer; Funeral Services Held On Sunday Afternoon at Swarthout Funeral Home and Veefkind.

 

Mrs. August Rahm, aged 49 years, passed away at her home seven miles west of Spencer in town of Sherman at 9:00 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, from the results of cancer.  The deceased had been ill for two years.  Funeral services were conducted at 1:15 p.m. Sunday at the Swarthout Funeral Home in Spencer, followed at 2:00 p.m. by services at Salem Lutheran church in Veefkind with the Rev. J. C. Langholtz officiating.  Burial was made in the church cemetery.

 

Hattie Schroeder was born in Dodge county on March 17, 1892, and came to Clark county not long before her marriage to August Rahm on August 9, 1913, in the town of Sherman.  She was a member of Salem Lutheran church and of its Ladies Aid society.  Surviving are her husband and her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Albhert Schroeder of Loyal, and six children, Walter of Chili; William and Bernard of Spencer; Mrs. Ervin (Alma) Hopfensperger of Spencer; Mrs. Marvin (Emily) Sutliff of Marshfield and Miss Ada Rahm at home.  There are six grandchildren, and the following brothers and sisters also survive:  Julius Schroeder of Spencer; Mrs. Albert Mellenthin of Unity; Mrs. Munson Vanderhoof of Marshfield; Miss Frieda Schroeder of Evanston, Ill.; Roy Schroeder of Spencer; Mrs. Walter Kuehn of Loyal and Bert Schroeder of Rockford, Ill.
