Eisentraut, Alvin F. (29 August 1880– 2 January 1966)

 

Funeral services were held Tuesday afternoon from the Georgas Funeral Home for Alvin F. Eisentraut, 85, of Memorial Home, who died here Sunday. The Rev. Oscar Nichols of the Neillsville Methodist Church officiated. Burial was made in the Town of Grant Cemetery.

 

Mr. Eisentraut was born August 29, 1880, in the Town of Grant, where he also attended school. A life-long resident of this area, he served on the school board of the Town of Grant School for several terms. He was president and a director of the Clark County Agriculture Society (fair board) for many years.

 

On February 10, 1904, he was married to the former Rose Ruege in Neillsville. They farmed in the Town of Seif until 1908, when they move onto a farm in the town of Grant, just east of Neillsville.  On their retirement in 1950 they moved into Neillsville, and for the last year both Mr. and Mrs. Eisentraut have been residents of Memorial Home.

 

He is survived by his wife; four children, Mrs. Arleigh (Ruby) Syth of Greenwood, Mrs. Paul (Helen) Hemp of Rochester, Minn., Mrs. W. H. (Alta) Allen of Neillsville, and Carl Eisentraut of rural Neillsville. Other survivors are a sister, Mrs. Walter (Elsie) Gerhardt of Greenwood; nine grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

 

Pallbearers were: Donald, Victor, and Erwin Braatz, John H. Syth, Carl Drescher, and Earl Erickson.

 

People from away attending the services were: Mr. and Mrs. Paul Hemp of Rochester, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Carl Hemp of Minneapolis, Minn.; Mr. and Mrs. Arne Eisentraut and James Eisentraut of Rockford, Ill.; Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Braatz and Mr. and Mrs. George Syth of Eau Claire; Mr. and Mrs. Bradley Larsen of Marshfield; Mrs. Phillip Haag of Adell; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Wakeman of Waukesha; Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Dahlke of Milwaukee.

 

Those attending from Greenwood were: Mr. and Mrs. Walter Gerhardt, Mr. and Mrs. John Syth, Mr. and Mrs. Earl Caliebe and family, Mrs. Lawrence Cox and Mrs. Simon Wehrman.

 

Others attending were: Mrs. William Tucker, Mr. and Mrs. Everett Herdrich and Mr. and Mrs. George Rowley, all of Loyal; Mrs. Emma Hubbard of Oshkosh; Mrs. Esther Treichler of Menomonee Falls; Mr. and Mrs. Victor Braatz, Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Vine and Mr. and Mrs. Theamore Vine of Granton.
