Molzen, Betty J. #2 (15 OCT 1960)

Mixed bouquets of gladiolas decorated the church of St. John’s Evangelical Lutheran Church, Withee, Wis., for the marriage of Miss Betty Joan Molzen and Lawrence Daniel Fagan.  Rev. Theodore C. Predoehl performed the 10:30 a.m. ceremony on Saturday, Oct. 15, 1960.  Mr. Arlyn Mills sang "Today O Lord, We at Thine Altar Stand" and "Always Faithful, Ever True" and the church congregation sang, "O Perfect Love."  Mrs. Herman Rabska was organist.

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Gustave Molzen, Route 2, Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), and Mr. and Mrs. Daniel Fagan, Route 1, Withee.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a gown of Chantilly lace over skinner satin with a chapel train.  The fitted lace Basque was outlined with a scalloped Sabrina neckline.  Long tapered sleeves in true traditional highlighted the bouffant skirt of lace and tulle with an elegant sweep of lace in the chapel train over myriads of tulle ruffles.  Her French imported silk illusion veil was held by a crown which was designed in a queenly fashion of seed pearls.  To complete her attire she carried a crescent bouquet of red roses and white carnations.

Miss Helen Dearth was maid of honor.  Bridesmaids were Angeline Horvat, Arlene and Kathleen Petke.  They wore floor length gowns of lavender lace with matching bolero jackets with many lace tiers.  Their matching tiaras were trimmed with velveteen wedding bells complete with blush veils.  Each carried crescent bouquets of yellow mums and white chrysanthemums.

Flower girl was Wendy Petke and ring bearer was Paul Nimbar.

Mr. Theodore Zawacki was best man and groomsmen were Daniel Fagan, Roger Krasselt and James Bakke.  Ushers were Arthur Petke Jr. and Arthur Petke Sr.

Following the ceremony a noon dinner was served to about 150 guests at the Legion Hall at Owen, Wis.  Immediately following the dinner, Mr. Arlyn Mills sang the well-known song, "I Love You Truly." Mrs. Arthur Petke Jr. of Withee, also entertained the guests by reading a poem, "Bride and Groom," written by his mother, Mrs. Alice Petke, and by playing beautiful accordion music for the remainder of the afternoon.

Mrs. Kenneth Phillips of Withee was in charge of the guest book and Miss Helen Dearth along with Theodore Zawacki opened the gifts.

The bride’s aunt, Mrs. Bertha Koepsell and Gertrude Mogensen were in charge of cutting the wedding cake.  The cake and coffee were served to the guests by Mrs. Alice Petke.

A wedding dance was held in the evening at the Silver Dome, located west of Neillsville, Wis., featuring Danny Stauss and his orchestra.

Out of state guests attending eh wedding were: Mr. and Mrs. Steve Nekar and Mr. and Mrs. Harry Mogensen and family, Chicago, Miss Louise Koepsell, Mrs. Bertha Koepsell and Mrs. Ann Molzen of Sioux Falls, S.D.

The bride is a 1960 graduate of Owen-Withee Sr. High School and the groom a 1958 graduate of Taylor County Teachers College.  The couple will make their home at Neillsville where the groom is a principal and teacher in the Washburn School of the Neillsville City System.
