Wittke, Ferdinand K. (4 January 1882 - 1 April 1966)

Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from the Georgas Funeral Home for Ferdinand K. Wittke, 84, of Neillsville, who died at his home Friday.  The Rev. F. C. Benecke of the Zion Lutheran Church in Granton officiated.  Burial was made in the Neillsville City Cemetery.

Mr. Wittke was born January 4, 1882, in Tolona, Ill., where he attended school.  He came to Clark County in the fall of 1895 with his parents, who located on a farm.  He spent most of his lifetime engaged in farming in the Town of Weston.  On October 1, 1913, he was married in Neillsville to the former Erna Bardeleben, who died in 1957.

Mr. Wittke is survived by a son, Lester Wittke of rural Neillsville; a daughter, Mrs. Alfred L. (Viola) Garbisch of Rt. 1 Granton; five grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Fred (Edna) Willms of West Allis; and a brother, Henry Wittke of Neillsville.

Pallbearers were: William Ruchaber, August Janke, Ed Allen, Max Lukas, Fred Subke and John Pannebecker.

The Misses Connie and Gayle Montgomery, accompanied by Mrs. Leland Garbisch, sang, "The Lord is my Shepherd" and "Abide with me".
