Neillsville Locals (14 April1966)

 

Mr. and Mrs. John Schiesel have moved into the former Episcopal Church building, which they have purchased and are in the process of remodeling.  Miss Brooks Rector, who had been living in an apartment in the building, has moved into the house vacated by the Schiesel family on Armory Avenue.

 

Miss Elaine Wachholz of St. Paul, Minn., is spending this week with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Wachholz.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Dean Houlihan and family of Sioux City, Ia., and Mr. and Mrs. Art Bardeleben and family of Beloit, spent Easer with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Bardeleben. The Bardelebens and their guests helped Mr. and Mrs. James Cummings celebrate their wedding anniversary Sunday.

 

Linda Graves, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Darwin Graves of Neillsville, was a member of the River Falls State University Symphonic Band which recently completed a spring concert tour in northern Wisconsin.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Melnard Hansen and Mrs. Larry Hansen of Milwaukee spent part of the Easter weekend with his mother, Mrs. Harry Hansen, near Fairchild.  They also visited his sisters, Mrs. Harold Prock and Mrs. Robert Mortenson and families, and with Mr. and Mrs. Dennis Brown of River Falls, who spent the Easter vacation at the Walter Brown home.

 

Mr. and Mrs. George Davis of Chesterton, Ind., were weekend guests of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. George May.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Glendon Wilcox and family spent Easter with his mother, Mrs. Florence Wilcox, in Cornell, and with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Diels, in Medford.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Al Dimeo and family of Racine spent from Thursday until Sunday with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Dux, and family. Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Duane Anding and family of Lynn joined the family group for Easter dinner.

 

Dan Brewer suffered an apparent heart attack at his home early Friday morning. He was taken to Memorial Hospital for medical care.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Harry Johnson of Madison were recent weekend guests of their son-in-law and daughter, Judge and Mrs. Lowell D. Schoengarth, and on Palm Sunday morning attended the confirmation of their granddaughter, Barbara Schoengarth, in the United Church.  Lowell Don Schoengarth, also of Madison, was here for his sister’s confirmation.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Donald Shaw and family of Milwaukee, Mrs. and Mrs. Robert DeMert and children of Whitehall, were Easter weekend guests of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Oscar DeMert.  Mr. and Mrs. Shaw were accompanied by Mrs. Karen Worsham, who recently returned from Germany and who spent several days at their home in Milwaukee.  Karen plans an indefinite visit with her parents.

 

Dr. M. V. Overman and Dr. Bahri O. Gungor were in Rochester, Minn., last week, where they attended a seminar.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Jacob and Charlene of Ellsworth were weekend guests of their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Jacob and Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hubing.

 

Kurt Listeman was host at an Easter Sunday dinner for 140 residents of Memorial Home and 50 guests.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Yakesh and family of Bloomer were guests Sunday of her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ray Burr.

 

Jesse Mike is a patient in the Veterans Hospital in Madison.  He was taken there Thursday by Heron Van Gorden.

 

Mrs. Hugh G. Haight has returned from a six-month visit with relatives.  In Boise, Id., she spent two months with her brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Ludovic, and was a guest of her brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. Archie Haight of Las Vegas, Nev., for four months.  Enroute home, Mrs. Haight visited a niece and her husband, Mr. and Mrs. E. John Pfiffner, in Mt. Prospect, Ill.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Robert Drake and family of Abbotsford were weekend guests of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Russell Drake.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Lowell Gesche and two children spent Easter Sunday in Elmwood with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Gesche.
