Herman Litka, 77, died of a heart attack Saturday, November 22 at 4:40 p.m. at the farm home of his daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Erwin Schmidt in the town of Beaver.

 

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church. Burial will be made at the Lutheran Cemetery. The Rev. John Pfohl will officiate.

 

Mr. Litka was born in Brandenburg, Germany July 6, 1881 and came to the United States as an infant. His parents settled in Beaver Township and later bought a farm in the same area where he resided until 1945 when he moved to the city of Loyal. His daughter now lives on the home farm. He was married to Elsie Foelske in the town of Beaver Nov. 17, 1909. He was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church.

 

He is survived by his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Ervin (Verna) Schmidt; two grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Bertha Pickruhn, Loyal; Mrs. Earl (Anna) Stowe; Loyal; Mrs. Ella Philpott, Loyal; and Mrs. Andrew (Amelia) Lydiksen, Riplinger. His brother William preceded him in death.
