Bohac, Barry Alan (1 November 1941 - December 29, 2011)

 

Barry Alan Bohac, 70, died peacefully at his home on Thursday, December 29, 2011, surrounded by the love of his family.  He was born on November 1, 1941, in Black River Falls, to Bohumil and Caroline (nee: Sonheim) Bohac.  He grew up on a farm in the Town of Dewhurst, Clark County.  He graduated from Black River Falls Senior High School in 1959.  After serving four years in the Air Force, he attended the University of Wisconsin - Madison and graduated with a degree in electrical engineering.  He spent his entire career in government service, retiring from the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) in 2106 after 43 years.  He was a man of quiet strength, great courage and a strong faith. 

 

Barry is survived by his wife, Janice (nee: Cobetto) Bohac; three children, Bart, Sean and Caitlin.  He is also survived by his mother, Caroline Bohac; a brother, Paul (Gail) Bohac, of Black River Falls; a sister, Jean (John) Starr of Greendale; and numerous nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by his father, Bohumil.

 

A memorial service will be held at 7 p.m. at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Union Grove on Monday, January 2, 2012.  Friends and family may call at the church prior to the service beginning at 4 p.m. 

 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Union Grove, WI, the Aurora Visiting Nurses Association Hospice Program, or the Nature Conservancy in WI.
