Greenwood (2 June 1966)

 

The 80th birthday of Mrs. O. J. Amundson was observed at her home Sunday. Weekend guests were her children and grandchildren, Mr. and Mrs. Robert (Laura) Funke and Mr. and Mrs. A. S. (Bernice) Rushka of New Holstein; Dr. and Mrs. James Doherty and daughters, Teresa and Colleen, of Medford; and Martin Rushka of Sturgeon Bay.

 

The Intersee Club was entertained Wednesday evening at the home of Mrs. George Seliskar.

 

Mrs. Henry Keiner returned Thursday evening after spending a week with relatives and friends in Racine, Milwaukee and Chicago.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Norman Olson and children, Cindy, Pamela and Tommy, of Milwaukee, spent the weekend here.  Pamela remained for an extended visited with her grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Schwarze.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Otto Voie were dinner guests Sunday at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Alfred Anderson in Iola.

 

Dinner guests Sunday of Mrs. Jake Speich were Mr. and Mrs. Donald Speich of Eau Claire, Mr. and Mrs. Gary Speich and children, Caroline and Jacob and Mrs. John Norris of Osseo.

 

Monday dinner guests of Mrs. Walter Swieso were Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Thiede of Granton.

 

Members of the Happy Hustlers Homemakers who attended Achievement night at Owen were Mrs. Hugh Severson, Mrs. Harlan Brux, Mrs. Eugene Carteron, Mrs. John Kaltinger, Mrs. John Lindner, Mrs. George Scherer, Mrs. Zepaltas and Miss Louise Keiner.

 

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Dill, and Gilbert Dill of Chicago, Harvey Dill and Mrs. Norbert Dill and daughter, Linda, of Milwaukee, and Mr. and Mrs. Gary Abel and family of Racine, who came to attend the wedding of their nephew, William Mitte, spent from Friday until Sunday with their mother, Mrs. Lydia Dill, and other relatives.

 

Sunday, the above-named, accompanied by Mrs. Dill, Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Abel and Thomas, and Mr. and Mrs. Jack Abel and daughter, Jeanette, attended the confirmation of Lynette Mitte at the Lutheran Church in Globe.  They were dinner guests at the Harold Mitte home following the service.

 

The Salem Aid met Tuesday afternoon in Immanuel United Church. The group presented a gift of appreciation to the Rev. and Mrs. Orval Egbert.  After the program a lunch was served by Mrs. Otto Horn and Mrs. George Poppe.  Mrs. Clara Liebzeit has extended an invitation to the group to meet at her home in Greenwood June 21.

 

Miss Margaret and Olga Briski of Chicago, Ill., visited relatives Memorial weekend and attended the reception for Father Matthew G. Malnar at St. Mary’s Hall in Greenwood.

 

Miss Helen Briski of Cicero, Ill.; visited her parents and relatives in the Greenwood area and also attended the reception of the Rev. Malnar.
