Waichulis, Bernice (26 MAR 1879 - 11 FEB 1961)

 

Bernice E. Waichulis, 81, died of a heart attack at St. Hedwig’s Chapel on Saturday, Feb. 11, 1961.

 

Funeral services were held Feb. 16 at St. Hedwig’s Chapel.  Father Ed Masalewicz officiated at the ten a.m. service.  Burial was in St. Hedwig’s New Parish Cemetery.  Pallbearers were: Casimir Franckiewicz, Eddie Jasinski, Stanley Wargolet, Louis Wojtklewicz, Stanley Mamayek and Frank Suidak.

 

Mrs. Waichulis was born March 26, 1879 in Poland.  She came to America in 1900 and settled in Rhode Island.  She then moved to Lublin before moving to Thorp (Clark Co., Wis., where she has been making her home with her son Raymond Slipek.  Her husband, Sam Waichulis preceded her in death, also the following children, one son, Frank, and two step-sons, John and Frank, Step-daughter, Ann, and another son died in infancy.

 

Surviving are six sons, Ray Slipek, Thorp, Julius and Stanley Slipek, Chicago, Ill., step-sons, Victor and tony Waichulis, Chicago, Ill., Fabrain Waichulis, Willanina, Oregon; two daughters, Charlotte Urbanik, Seville, Spain, Mary Honjon, Warsaw, Poland; two sisters, Petronela Pepka, Tillie Guowa, both of Central Falls, Rhode Island; nine grandchildren, Marilyn, John and Chester Slipek, Jean and Frank Sziwarga and John, Ann, Eddie and Frank Urbanik, and three great-grandchildren, Tony, Lynn and Steve Sziwarga.
