Hansen, Dianne Marie (Marriage - 23 July 1966)
Bouquets of peach gladioli graced the altar of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Loyal Saturday for the wedding of Miss Dianne Marie Hansen of Granton, and Harry Bernard Helwig of rural Neillsville. The double ring ceremony was performed by the groom’s brother, The Rev. Aquinas Helwig O.F.M., of Philadelphia, Pa.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Leland Hansen of Rt. 1 Granton, and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Helwig of Rt. 1 Neillsville.
Mr. Hansen gave his daughter in marriage. For her wedding, the bride chose a sheath styled gown of double silk organza that featured a scoop neckline and semi-Empire waistline, enhanced with Alencon lace appliqués.
The detachable chapel sweep train with repeated appliqués of Alencon lace cascaded from the back waistline. Her bouffant elbow length veil of silk illusion billowed from a forward headpiece of organza and Chantilly lace petals, edged with seed pearls and crystal droplets. She carried a cascade bouquet of autumn roses centered with a large white orchid.
Miss Mary Ellen Hoeser of Milwaukee was her maid of honor. Bridesmaid was Miss Emerica Helwig of Neillsville; junior bridesmaid was Miss Lorraine Hansen of Granton. The attendants wore floor length, sheath styled gowns. Their bodices of re-embroidered turquoise lace featured scoop necklines. The skirts were aqua chiffon over taffeta and were accented by Empire waistbands of turquoise satin. They carried crescent arrangements of white and turquoise carnations.
Andrew Helwig of Ames, Ia., was bestman for his brother. Groomsmen were Roger Sackman of Athens and Adrian Helwig of Neillsville. Ushers were Kenneth Hansen of Thompsonville, Conn., and William Wiesjahn of Neillsville.
Miss Barbara Hansen of Thompsonville, Conn., and Miss Cynthia Hansen of Rockford, Ill. nieces of the bride, were flower girls.
Nuptial music was furnished by the choir of St. Anthony’s Church, accompanied at the organ by Michael Tucker.
The day’s festivities included a reception at the bride’s home following the ceremony, a dinner at 5 p.m. in the church hall, and a dance in the evening.
The bride, a 1963 graduate of Granton High School, attended Spencerian College in Milwaukee and has been employed there. The groom is a senior at Wisconsin State University - Stevens Point.
