Kieser, Marjorie Ellen (Marriage - 23 July 1966)

Christ Lutheran Church in Abbotsford was the scene Saturday of the wedding of Marjorie Ellen Kieser, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gottlieb Kieser of Abbotsford, and Lynn Knute Gehring, son of Mr. and Mrs. Walter G. Gehring of Eleva.  Yellow gladioli and white chrysanthemums graced the altar for the double ring ceremony performed by the Rev. F. H. Sprengler.

The bride, who was given in marriage by her father, approached the altar attired in a floor length oriental sheath of sheer organza over taffeta.  Venetian lace enhanced the elbow length sleeves and the waistline.  A detachable train swept from the back waistline into a chapel length that was highlighted by appliqués of lace.  A bouffant veil of pure silk illusion cascaded from a Queen’s crown of imported crystal. She carried a white orchid surrounded by white stephanotis.

Mrs. Muriel Puhl of Minneapolis, Minn., was her sister’s matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Anne Gehring of Eleva, sister of the groom; Miss Dorothy Becherer of Eau Claire; and Mis Laura Enos of Minneapolis, Minn.

They wore identical floor length gowns of sheer organza over taffeta in mint green.  Venetian lace also adorned their elbow length sleeves and waistlines. Enhancing their dome skirts were detachable back panels, topped by a rose centered on petals. Pearls accented the crowns that held their sheer veils. They carried crescent shaped bouquets of yellow carnations.

Stanley Lebakken of Minneapolis, Minn., was bestman for his cousin. Groomsmen were Peter and Duane Berg of Minneapolis, Minn., and Allen Schultz of Eleva. Ushers were Tom Gehring of Aurora, Ill., and Weldon Brown of Mason City, Ia.

Mr. and Mrs. Gehring are residing at 246 ½ So. Franklin, Mondovi.

The new Mrs. Gehring is a 1961 graduate of Abbotsford High School and a 1965 graduate of Wisconsin State University - Eau Claire.  She teaches in the Mondovi schools. Mrs. Gehring is affiliated with Gamma Sigma Sigma Sorority and Pi Delta Phi Society.  The groom a 1960 graduate of Eleva-Strum High School, currently is attending Wisconsin State University - Eau Claire.
