Short, Carol (22 June 1937 – 18 May 2012)
Carol Reber Chadwick-Short, 74, of Neillsville passed away Friday, May 19, 2012, at the Neillsville Retirement Community.
Carol was born June 22, 1937, in the Town of Grant, to Walter and Julia (Klug) Reber. She attended school in Neillsville and graduated with the class of 1955. She moved to Cheyenne, WY, in May of 1955 and married Jim Chadwick July 16, 1955. She moved back to Wisconsin in March of 1956 and farmed at Christie with her husband until the sale of the farm. Jim and Carol moved to Neillsville in October of 1974 and resided at 1400 Bruley St. Upon the death of Jim, March 17, 1982, she became a nanny for several years. She married Glenn Short May 25, 1985. Glenn died Jan. 30, 1996.
She is survived by two sons, James (Lorrie) Chadwick of Granton and Mark (Kathy) Chadwick of St. Johns, FL; one grandson, Michael (Robyn) Chadwick of Santee, CA; and one sister, Nancy Johnson of Neillsville.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Barbara; a brother Richard; and a sister Margaret.
Interment of ashes will be held June 30, 2012, at 11 a.m. in the St. Mary’s Parish Cemetery, Neillsville, with a luncheon for family and friends to be held immediately following at St. Mary’s Church.
