Van Den Heuvel, Beatrice (3 JUN 1961)

Miss Beatrice Van Den Heuvel became the bride of George Lauer Jr. on Saturday, June 3, 1961 at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church, Gilman. Father John Dzurko performed the ten a.m. Nuptial High Mass. Leonard Butek sang “Ave Maria” and Mrs. John Kondrasuk sang “On This Day.”

Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Aloys Van Den Heuvel, Gilman and Mr. and Mrs. George Lauer, Sr., Stanley.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, wore a floor length gown of nylon embroidered net over satin featuring a fitted bodice, long traditional tapered sleeves and a full skirt with satin roses and framing the bustle in back. Her waist length veil was held in place with a rhinestone tiara and she carried a cascade bouquet of pink roses and white stephanotis.

Miss Virginia Van Den Heuvel was her sister’s maid of honor, wearing a street length dress of white nylon organza over taffeta, fashioned with fitted bodice, bateau neckline and short bow looped sleeves. American Beauty rose cummerbund and back panel trimmed with little bows accented the full skirt. The bridesmaids, Janet Ann Lauer, sister of the groom, Kathleen Van Den Heuvel, sister-in-law of the bride, Yvonne Ceskik sister of the groom, and Sharon Keefer, friend of the bride, all wore identical styled dresses to the maid of honor’s, with their cummerbunds and panels in a spectrum of color in pink, cotillion blue, orchid and violet. All wore pearl entwined hair braid clips with circular veils in the matching color spectrum and each carried natural colored woven baskets filled with carnations matching the colors in their gowns.

Bernard Van Den Heuvel, brother of the bride, was best man. Groomsmen were Melvin Lauer, brother of the groom, Gene Ceskik, brother-in-law of the groom, and John Smigaj, friend of the groom.

Ushers were Bob Walters, cousin of the groom and Richard Witschen, brother-in-law of the bride.

Mrs. Richard Witschen acted as hostess wearing an orchid dress and a corsage of yellow carnations.

A dinner for 190 guests and a reception for 400 guests were held at Koolmo’s Ballroom, Gilman.

The bride attended Gilman Public School and is employed as linotype operator at the Thorp Courier and the groom attended Stanley Public School. After a wedding trip to Minnesota and northern Wisconsin, the couple will make their home near Stanley where the groom is a farmer.
