Sokolowski, Bernard (19 AUG 1888 - 22 DEC 1961)

Funeral services were held at St. Hedwig’s Chapel, Wednesday, Dec. 27 for Bernard Sokolowski, 73, who passed away Friday, Dec. 22, 1961. Rev. Ed Masalewicz officiated at the 9:30 a.m. service and burial was in St. Hedwig’s Cemetery. Pallbearers were Walter Szczech, Bob Zukowski, John Szczech, Steve Lato, Walter Pajak and Victor Roman.

Mr. Sokolowski was born in Chicago, Ill. on Aug. 19, 1888, and he came to Thorp (Clark Co., Wis.) in 1904 with his parents. From 1915 to 1917 he was in Canada farming with his brother Bruno. He later worked and Chicago and in 1951 he came back to Thorp where he retired.

Surviving are two brothers, Frank and Leo, and one sister, Mrs. Leo Dulek, all of Thorp. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Amanda Kubera and Martha Kulczyk, and two brothers, Stanley and Bruno.
