Nicks, Roger “Rog” E. (23 FEB 1946 - 9 JUL 2012)

Roger “Rog” E. Nicks, 66, Town of Hammel, died Monday, July 9, 2012, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital, where he had been a patient for the last three weeks.

Roger was born February 23, 1946, on the family farm in Clark County, to the late Walter E. Sr. and Elenora L. (Burtard) Nicks.

He graduated from Dor-Abby High School and eventually took over the family farm near Dorchester.

He married Donna M. Krause on June 27, 1964, and they had three sons, Brian, Terry and Michael.

Roger drove truck for Farmers Union Coop Transport in Stetsonville for a number of years and managed the company until purchasing his business, Nicks’ Truck Repair and Sales, in 1985.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming, antique tractors, auctions, breakfast social group at The Diner.

Survivors include his wife, Donna, Withee; three sons, Brian (Steph), Withee, Terry (Bonnie) Fall Creek, and Mike (Susie), Medford; nine grandchildren; one brother, Walter (Lois) Nicks Jr., Spring Valley, AZ.

Roger was preceded in death by his parents.

There was a celebration of Roger’s life Saturday, July 14, at Our Saviours Lutheran Church, Medford. Pastor Kris Bjerke-Ulliman presided.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Rog’s family to be designated at a later date.

Hemer Funeral Homes of Medford assisted the family with arrangements.
