Binning, Clifford H. (3 DEC 1921 - 25 JUL 2012)

Clifford H. Binning, 90, Marshfield, passed away on Wednesday, July 25, 2012 at Marshfield Care Center.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, August 1, 2012 at Rembs Funeral Home, Marshfield, with Rev. Joel Deaner-Rogers officiating. Music will be provided by organist, Jodi Rueth and soloist Donna Olson. The family will receive relatives and friends at Rembs Funeral Home on Wednesday from 1:00 pm until service time. Interment of cremains will be in the Brighton Cemetery, Unity at a later date.

Clifford was born on December 3, 1921 in Unity to Herbert and Inga (Lydicksen) Binning and was educated at Unity Elementary and High School. He married Joan Luce on September 29, 1951 at Unity Methodist Church. In September 2011 they celebrated sixty years of marriage.

Upon their marriage Clifford and Joan took over the family dairy farm in Unity. Clifford also worked for the Marathon County Highway Department.

Clifford was an avid fisherman, archer, and hunter, and in retirement much enjoyment was had traveling with his wife all over the world. He started the Unity Bow Hunters Club, for many years was active in local sports and conservation clubs, and was a member of the Conservation Congress. He also was manager and coach of the Semi Pro Basketball Unity Tigers. He enjoyed spending time at their lake lot in Phillips. Upon moving to Marshfield he and his wife were volunteers on the Senior Advisory Board of Ministry St. Joseph’s Forum 55. He was a lifelong member of the Unity and Colby Methodist Church. His family and granddaughters Katie and Kelly were the joy of his life.

He is survived by his wife, Joan; his son, Gary (Joyce) Binning; daughter, Donna (Dale) Andrew; granddaughter, Kelly Binning; and nieces, nephews and many good friends and neighbors.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Inga Binning; brothers, Kenneth (Ceil) Binning, Earl (Marie) Binning, Melford (Nancy) Binning, Floyd (Elva) Binning; a sister, Merle (Duane) Anderson Fischer; a beloved granddaughter, Katie Binning; and a grandson, Greg Binning in infancy.

The family wishes to thank everyone at Ministry St. Joseph’s Hospital and the Marshfield Care Center for their kind compassionate care of Clifford and special thanks to Rev. Joel Deaner-Rogers, Donna Olson, soloist and Jodi Rueth, organist.
