Ellison, Phillis (08 Oct 1960)

A gown of chantilly lace with satin bias bands and a large bow in the back of her bouffant skirt was worn by Phillis
Jean Ellison as she became the bride of John C. Linster of Greenwood in a 1 o’clock ceremony Saturday at Trinity Lutheran Church.

Her dress was fashioned with a scalloped Sabrina neckline and long tapered sleeves. She carried a cascade of red roses and swansonia.

The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Ellison, route 1, Loyal and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ollie Linster, route 1, Greenwood are now on a honeymoon through the western states.

The bride’s father gave her in marriage before Rev. V. A. Ganz for the double ring ceremony. Mavis Rossow sang “The Lord’s Prayer” and was accompanied on the organ by Margaret Ann Rottjer.

Mrs. Dennis Schefus came from Waukesha to be her sister’s honor attendant and bridal aides were Betty Gutenberger of Milwaukee, Carol Margelosky, a cousin of the bride, from Hustisford and Linda Capelle of Loyal. Amy Linster, the groom’s neice from Plymouth was the junior bridesmaid. They chose edgewood blur frocks of net over taffeta accented with bows in the back. Their fans were clusters of pink roses and white pompoms with pink velvet streamers.

The bride’s mother was seen in an olive green jacket dress with a rose design of tie silk with black accessories. The bridegroom’s mother wore a blue silk dress with black design. Each had a corsage of roses and pompoms.

Best man was Dennis Schefus of Waukesha, the bride’s brother-in-law and groomsmen were Bob Gutenberger of Milwaukee, Harold Boon of Christie, Gordon Ellison, the bride’s brother and David Linster, the groom’s nephew from Plymouth. Ushers were Allen Linster, the groom’s brother of Plymouth and Floyd Clemans, an uncle of the bride from Alderly.

Wedding day events included a reception at the home of the bride’s parents, supper at the Lutheran Church dining hall and a dance at the Silver Dome Ballroom near Neillsville.

The bride is a 1959 graduate of Loyal High School and her new husband graduated in 1955 from Neillsville High School. The couple will make their home on route1, Greenwood on the farm of his parents.
