Colby, Joan (05 Nov 19600

Now on a honeymoon through northern Wisconsin and Michigan is the former Joan Beth Colby, Greenwood and William A. Giles, Cadott, who were married at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church Saturday at 10 a.m.

The daughter of Mrs. argery Colby, Greenwood and the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Giles were united in marriage by the Rev. Norbert E. King with singing furnished by the choir which was accompanied by Mrs. Edward Trnka at the organ.

Attendants for the couple were Mrs. Eugene Schneider of Hales Corners, a cousin of the bride and Donald Weggen of Fall Creek. Mrs. Schneider wore a floor length gown of shrimp pink lace over tulle with a matching pearl trimmed Hat. She carried shrimp colored carnations surrounded by white pompoms.

Chantilly lace and tulle with a full floor length skirt of lace trimmed with scalloped edging around the bottom styled the brides gown.It was fashioned with long sleeves and a sweetheart neckline outlined with sequins and seed pearls. Her fingertip veil was caught to a pearl trimmed crown and she held a bouquet of white roses.

The bride’s mother wore a gold jersey sheath dress with black accessories and a two piece dress of blue and black with blue accessories was worn by the groom’s mother.

A dinner was served following the ceremony and a reception in the afternoon.

The new Mrs. Giles is a graduate of Greenwood High School and Wisconsin Stare College at Eau Claire and is presently the fourth grade teacher at the Abbotsford Public Schools. Her husband graduated from Cadott High School and Taylor County Teachers College and has the position at the Unity Elementary Schools. They will make their home in Unity.
