Albert, Jean E. (26 OCT 1963)

A 10 o’clock marriage ceremony was performed Saturday morning, Oct. 28, 1963 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Owen, where promises were exchanged before the Rev. H.L. Crubel by Miss Jean Ellen Albert, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clinton O. Albert, Withee (Clark Co., Wis.), and James M. Lukas, Neillsville, son of Mr. and Mrs. Peter Lukas, Thorp.

The bride, given in marriage by her father, was attired in a bell shaped skirted gown of angel skin peau fashioned with bateau neckline and redingote effect created by softly rounded scallops caught with small buttons cascading from neckline to hemline. The full pleated skirt back curved to a chapel train revealing medallions of Alencon lace.

Her three tiered bouffant veil of imported silk illusion was attached to a crown of pearls with petal sprays. White jappettes with stephanotis were mounted on her prayer book, with a rosary entwined around the jappettes.

Preceding the bride to the altar were her aides, Miss Pat Verkuilen, the maid of honor, and Miss Bernadine Schoenfelder, friends of the bride, and Miss Pat Lukas, sister of the groom.

Their street length gowns of royal blue taffeta were made with round necklines on the fitted bodices and floor length overskirts, with inverted pleats attached to wide cummerbunds having two small bows at the back.

They had matching flower headpieces with bouffant maline veiling in the back and carried cascades of white Fuji mums.

The groom’s attendants were Russell Lee of Amery as best man; Merlin Nevala and Niles Munson, Sheboygan, the groomsmen; and Bob Lukas, Thorp, and James Albert, Withee, ushers.

The wedding breakfast followed the church ceremony with the reception and dance, all held at St. Hedwig’s Parish Hall.

The bride, a graduate of Wis. State College, River Falls, has been employed at Madison General Hospital, Madison. Her husband, who graduated from River Falls, is an A.S.C.S. office manager trainee.

Following a northern Wisconsin honeymoon, the Luskases will reside at 1 Court St. Neillsville (Clark Co., Wis.).
