Dr. Housley, who bought his former home back, moved into it Monday. He had it repaired and painted up.

Geo. Waterman moved into the Hoffman home that he owned some years hence.

Quite a number of cement walks will be built here before fall, which will make quite an improvement in the appearance of the village, and will be also a saving of many falls that might be taken on dark nights.

Louis Lindow, who hurt his right shoulder some time ago, will soon have his bandage removed again and feel more comfortable. He had to walk with his arm tied up.

Some of the drafted men and boys will soon know whether they will have to go to military camps or not. It will take some out of our town, it could not be expected otherwise.

Quite a few took in the excursion to Camp Douglas last Sunday. The rain spoiled some of the enjoyment. It is quite a sight to see the number of tents reaching into the distance. Those that went thought there was no end of ground. And that is only a very small part of those that are to serve our country.

Clark Waterman took a few days’ vacation to visit his brother Lem Waterman at Winona, and also to see his brother at Camp Douglas. Herman Portz is running the business while Clark is gone.

Ure brothers will be ready anytime to commence threshing and will do good work. They have made quite an improvement on the separator, that will save the farmers a lot of grain that otherwise would go into the hay stack.

Mrs. A.W. Wendorf and children returned from their visit some time ago.

There were again some that went west into the harvest fields, though the number is getting smaller every year.

Mr. and Mrs. John Fraser and two of their children are here from the state of Washington visiting his parents Mr. and Mrs. John Fraser Sr. since Friday.

Geo. Fraser of Granton spent Sunday here with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Fraser Sr.
