Harris, Judy (17 AUG 1963)

The wedding of Miss Judy Harris of Stetsonville and George V. Hansen of Abbotsford took place Saturday afternoon, Aug. 17, 1963, at the First Baptist Church at Medford at 2 o'clock. The Rev. Russell Voight performed the double ring ceremony before a newly placed picture painted for the church by Rodney Hawks. Mrs. Mildred Hall sang "I Love Your Truly" and a nuptial hymn, and Mrs. Gilbert Fiselman was the accompanist and pianist.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eldon Harris of Stetsonville, and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Hansen of Abbotsford.

Preceding the bride to the altar were two attendants attired alike in street length dresses of silk organza made with short sleeved fitted bodices and net overskirts with a bow effect in the back. They wore matching halo veils caught to floral headpieces and carried lace fans with blue and white carnations.

Miss Joyce Harris was her sister's maid of honor and Miss June Wood, both of Stetsonville, was bridesmaid.

The bride, escorted by her father, appeared in a Chantilly type lace gown made with a fitted bodice and a bouffant ruffled tiered skirt with a chapel train. Sequins and tiny rhinestones embellished the neckline and also the crown which held her bouffant tiered veil. She carried a cascade bouquet of white and red carnations.

Kenneth Gaurke of Abbotsford was the best man and Bryce Krohn of Stetsonville was the groomsman. Rodney Hawks of Curtiss and David Sochan of Goodrich performed the ushering duties.

Mrs. Harris chose a medium blue ensemble for her daughter's wedding, and Mrs. Hansen wore a pale blue flowered Dacron dress. Both mothers wore white accessories and had corsages of blue and white carnations.

Following the ceremony a reception was held at the Chelsea Conservation Club at Chelsea, which was attended by about 200 guests. The bridal party also went to the home of the bride's invalid grandmother, Mrs. Dahl, at Stetsonville.

The newly married couple left on a wedding trip to Michigan and northern Wisconsin, and on their return will make their home at Medford on National and Maple Streets.

Mr. Hansen, who is a graduate of the Abbotsford High School, is employed as a painter by his uncle, Gordon Reierson at Medford. His bride, a graduate of the Medford High School, was a bookkeeper for her uncle at Skelly Gas at Stetsonville.

Guests attending the wedding came from Gallup, N.M., Chicago, Minneapolis, Beloit, Curtiss, Abbotsford, Stetsonville and surrounding areas.
