Waniger, Karen L. (7 SEP 1963)

Miss Karen Lou Waniger, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Adrien Waniger, route 1, Colby, and Duane Riehle, son of Mrs. Elizabeth Riehle, route 1, Abbotsford, exchanged promises at St. Bernard's Catholic Church Saturday morning, Sept. 7, 1963, before a nuptial high mass. The Rev. Raymond B. Schulz witnessed the 10:30 o'clock ceremony before the altar adorned with vases of yellow, white and blue tinted gladioli.

For her wedding, the bride was attired in a floor length gown of Chantilly lace and tulle styled with long sleeves and a Sabrina neckline outlined with sequins. Ruffles detailed the back of the full skirt. A crown of pearls and sequins held her bouffant fingertip veil. Her bouquet was a cascade arrangement of red roses and white carnations centered with a white orchid with garnet roses on satin streamers.

Attending as honor couple were Mr. and Mrs. Hug Seliger of Marathon, brother-in-law and sister of the groom. Miss Sandra Behringer of Stratford, a cousin of the bride, and Lenny Riehle of Abbotsford, brother of the groom, and Miss Debra Waniger of Colby, sister of the bride, and Calvin Smart of Curtiss, nephew of the groom, were the other attendants.

Miss Cynthia Riehle of Edgar, the flower girl, and Gene Kohl of Athens, the ring bearer, nice and nephew of the groom, completed the wedding party.

The attendants wore street length dresses of Dacron made with full skirts and white lace bodices with full length sleeves and tehy carried bouquet of matching and white carnations. Blue was chose for the matron of honor and yellow for the bridesmaids.

The flower girl was dressed exactly like the bride.

Following the church ceremony, festivities included breakfast served at St. thomas' Catholic Church, Milan, a reception at the home of the bride's parents and supper and dancing at Riverview Ballroom.

Almost 250 wedding guests came from Manitowoc, Abbotsford, Wausau, Mosinee, Marshfield, Stratford, Schofield, Fond du Lac, Unity, Athens, Curtiss, Edgar and Milwaukee.

The new Mr. and Mrs. Riehle are making their home at Route 1, Abbotsford, where the groom is engaged in farming.
