WILLIAM AND MINNIE TOBUREN GOLDEN ANNIVERSARY

Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Toburen of this city celebrated their golden wedding Thursday, June 28, 1928. It was fifty years ago that Wm. Toburen and Miss Minnie Roevert were united in marriage at Wersen Westphalia, Germany. They came to the United States the same year of their marriage, 1878, and resided at Cincinnati, Ohio for 5 years, at Wausau 1 year and in the Town of Wine, Marathon County 1 year. 43 years ago they came to the Town of Warner, Clark County, where they resided until a few years ago, when they moved to this city.

In the Town of Warner they created a lovely farm out of a thickly wooded piece of land. They have six living children, who are Wm. H. Toburen on the homestead, Mrs. Wm. Miller of the West Side, Gust Toburen of Wausau, Laura at home, Mrs. W. Fulsang of Chicago, and Mrs. Arthur Syth south of Greenwood. There are also 13 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. The above were all present at the celebration. Besides there were Mr. and Mrs. Roevert and Mr. and Mrs. Langenhaber of Marathon City and other friends.

The children surprised them at their home last Thursday evening and invited them to a picnic supper to their honor. The children and other relatives remembered them with fine presents.

The evening was spent by the bride and groom telling of their past experience. Then a short address was given by their pastor of Immanuel Reformed Church and religious and other songs were sung.

It was a day of joy for all who were present.
