F. P. Foley was born at Montello, Wisconsin Oct. 28, 1869, receiving his early education there. He took pre-medical training at Oshkosh College, obtaining his Doctory of Medicine degree from Rush Medical College, Chicago in 1900. After internship he set up a practice at Neshkoro, Wisconsin, marrying Katherine Victory at Neshkoro on Sept. 13, 1905.


Dr. Foley came to Dorchester Sept. 17, 1909 purchasing the office and practice of Dr. H. M. Nedry. He served this community for forty years. On May 27, 1950 thousands of people gathered in Dorchester to celebrate his 50th year in the medical profession and to pay tribute to him for his lifetime of service to humanity.


Dr. Foley died Oct. 25, 1954, was buried at Memorial Cemetery and at that time was survived by his widow and eight children one daughter, Kathryn, preceeding him in death. Mrs. Foley passed away in 1957, and is also buried at Memorial Cemetery.
