Warner, Lillian (Marriage - 28 NOV 1901)

One of the prettiest wedding of the season took place Thanksgiving day, when Miss Lillian Warner of York, Clark County, and Harry Bowman of Loyal were united in marriage at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. W. Warner.

About twelve o'clock the guests began to arrive. At 1:30 p.m., to the strains of the wedding march played by Miss Belle Davis, the bridal party entered the parlor and took their positions under a beautiful evergreen arch, where the ceremony was performed by Rev. Hill of Loyal. The bridesmaids were Miss Hattie Warner, sister of the bride, and Miss Stella Bowman, sister of the groom, while Albert Davel and Ray Prior, both of Loyal, acted as groomsmen.

The bride was attired in a handsome dress of light green, trimmed with white silk, while the dresses of the bridesmaids were of a darker shade of green. The groom wore the conventional black. The house was artistically decorated with evergreens and vines of the honey wax plants, while table decorations were geraniums. After the ceremony, congratulations and good wishes were offered to the happy couple, after which all partook of the wedding dinner. Many useful and beautiful presents were received, one of them being a kitchen grocer.

The bride is the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Warner. She is well known in this vicinity, having successfully taught school for several years. She is a young lady of inestimable worth and highly esteemed by all. The groom, although not as well known in this place, is a young man of sterling character, and during his stay here, has made hosts of friends who will be glad to learn that Mr. and Mrs. Bowman will reside in the immediate vicinity.

About one hundred guests witnessed the ceremony, among who were Mr. and Mrs. E. Bowman, Mr. and Mrs. Don Thomas, Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Garvin, the Misses Florence Baker and Stella Thomas of Loyal, Miss Mattie Green, Miss Mariam Dunn and Albert Dunn of Greenwood.
