Watch Greenwood Grow

Every week improvements are taking place that speaks very favorably for one of the liveliest little cities in the grassland country.  No where can there be found a small city that takes more pride in the appearances of its streets and public places, or where the citizens spend more time in the improvements to their properties and the beautifying of their lawns, that they do right here.  It is to the apparent and prosperous condition of Greenwood in general, and its sanitary and healthful environments, that is causing people at a distance to set up and take notice.  Greenwood Gleaner Aug. 5, 1909

The column to the right is an example of the "Improvements" which were thought to be noteworthy and beneficial to the community.
