Brecht, Emery N. (1919 - 1982)


Funeral services for Emery N. Brecht, 63, of Route 2, Loyal, Town of York, Clark County, were conducted at 11 a.m., Thursday, Sept. 2, at Rinka Funeral Home, Loyal.

Mr. Brecht died Monday, Aug. 30, 1982, at the Veterans Hospital in Milwaukee.

Officiating at the service was Rev. James Logan, pastor of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Loyal. Burial was in the Loyal Cemetery.

Full military rites were conducted by the Loyal American Legion. Wayne, Mike, Peter and David Brecht and Mark and Greg Gorke served as pallbearers. Rinka Funeral Home, Loyal was in charge of arrangements.

Emery Brecht was born on April 14, 1919, in Cashton, Wis. to Frank and Mary (nee Klinker) Brecht, and received his education in Rural Clark County.

He was married to Rosabel Ladwig on Sept. 11, 1981, at Dorchester. He worked for Laufberg Brothers Construction as a roofer for a number of years.

He was a World War II Veteran and a member of the Loyal American Legion.

He is survived by his wife, Rosabel one daughter, Mrs. Charles (Judy) Jenks of Milwaukee one step-daughter, Mrs. Dennis (Gail) Stephens of Loyal one brother, Jerome of DePere one sister, Mrs. Adolph (Margaret) Gorke of Dorchester and nine grandchildren.

Preceding him in death were one step-son, Gene Tess and three brothers, Herman, Peter and Clarence.
